My first blog post!
This year has been interesting to say the least. Pandemic, quarantines, social distancing, eviction moratoriums, and to top all of that off, the moving on of a member of my staff who had been with me from the start, 21 years. All of these things have shown me that life is not without change. Some change is not within our control. We have to realize that we can either agonize about what we can not control or choose to focus on the things that we can control. Like many people, in the beginning, I was focusing on the former and was living in a state of conscious anxiousness. With the support of my wife and my staff I started to focus on the later. The things I could control.
I kept my office open through all of this and the benefits are starting to show. Clients never stopped coming through the door. My office was able to help each of them through their difficulties and situations. Persistence and hard work continue to pay off.
Mr. Donald Mayeux, my law partner, told me that his dad would always say “keep working”. Whatever happens keep working! Such a simple saying but very powerful words. “Keep working”
Looking back, 2020 turned out to be one of the best years for Donald R. Richard, Jr., Attorney At Law, LLC.
As we begin 2021 things are looking good. Businesses are opening and people are getting out of the house.
I think if Mr. Donald’s dad was around today he would modify his words of wisdom and say “Keep Living”.
Prayer for the day:
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things
I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
